Caribou Crossroads is excited to announce our 2nd Annual Trout Opener will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2008.

Fish Contest! - Be sure to enter our Big Fish Contest. All anglers possessing a valid 2008 California Fishing License are welcome. There is a $5 entry fee and you must be signed up before 7 am on April 26. This contest is a 100% payback, paying the top 3 places. One fish per angler. Measurements taken all day, with a cut off time of 7 pm. Who says size doesn't matter? Go BIG!

Food! - Our cafe will be serving our famous burgers and fries but, as a special treat, Carlos and Sherri of C&S BBQ will be cooking up a tri-tip lunch and dinner special. Our mouths are watering just thinking about it -YUM!

Entertainment! - The band 8-Track Attack will be jamming us through the afternoon. This 6-member band cranks out '70's and '80's classic rock and promises to rock our socks!

Gold Panning

Want to try your hand at gold panning? The Golden Caribou Mining Association offers gold panning lessons and equipment usage for first time gold panners. Operating from Caribou Crossroads RV Park, the club has more than 1,500 acres of gold mining claims in the Plumas National Forest, and offers memberships for vacationers as well as one-year trial and lifetime memberships. The club provides access to the claims and training in panning, prospecting, metal detecting and dredging. Visit www.golden-caribou.com
